The history of Itekoa

Itekoa is a horizontal organization within which different programs are articulated, such a Community Radio called "FM EL CEIBAL", a Vocational Training Center, "Vivi Sieburguer" and a popular library, "Basilio Argimon"..

In 2012, we obtained the legal status of Civil Association and, the following year, we started building the Community Center.

In 2016, we received funding from INTA (National Institute of Agricultural Technology) to build the Radio.

We were selected as beneficiaries of two Art funds from the Municipality of Tigre, which were destined to moving in and tuning a piano donated to our Community Center.

In the year 2022, the Vivi Sieburguer Vocational Training Center began to offer training courses in trades (boat repair assistant and weaving in natural fibers).

The projects in which Itekoa is involved promote the use of art as a tool for social transformation and a revaluation of the wetlands ecosystem in which the Community Center is located. Itekoa seeks to generate physical and temporary meeting spaces for the people who live in this area of the Parana Delta, as well as to promote productive activities that respect the environment and that favor the strengthening of a local economy for the island community.
